Paranepanthia grandis

This relatively large seastar usually has 5 short and thick arms. It is light in colour, usually pinkish or tan, occasionally with some subtle patterning. There is a slight webbed appearance between the arms, giving this species a distinctive body shape, which is unlikely to be mistaken for other sea stars found in SA. It does share some similarities with Meridiastra species, but its large size distinguishes it.
