Desis kenyonae

This spider can be found on rocky coasts at low tide, where it forages for food. However, at high tide, it seals itself off in holes and crevices in the rock, plugging the opening with web and creating an air pocket. This species is dark, with an elongate body, long legs, and large maroon jaws. As the only truly marine spider known from SA, it is unlikely to be mistaken for any other species.
