Depth: Lower intertidal to 10+ metres
This cushion star is commonly found on or under rocks, or towards the bottom of jetty pylons. It has six short arms, and is a uniform purple, maroon or brown in colour. Unlike other species of Meiridiastra, it does not have a coloured spot in its centre, and can be recognised by its bright orange tube feet.
