Habitat: Estuaries and mangroves. Occasionally rocky coasts
Depth: Lower intertidal
This estuarine snail resembles others of the genus Bembicium. Like these, it varies in shape, from flat to quite tall. It is usually striped, but often too eroded to make out the stripes. This species has waves or nodules on its shells, particularly noticeable on the lower whorls. The distinct wavy ridges, and its estuarine habitat differentiate it from the closely related B. nanum.
