Distribution: SA coastal and gulf waters west of the Coorong
Habitat: Rocky areas and reef under rocks
Depth: Lower intertidal to 10+ metres
This long ribbon worm is often found coiled into a tight ball. It is often found in or amongst rocks on rocky coastlines. With a unique appearance amongst South Australian worms, it has a cream body, with light brown lines down its length. These lines are broken and irregular, branching and converging here and there. One of the most commonly encountered ribbon worms on our coasts, this species is unlikely to be mistaken for any other. However, it is worth noting that this is probably a species complex, and will likely be broken out into several very similar species (with an unknown number occurring in SA) based on current and future research.
