This smallish sacoglossan slug is commonly found on or around filamentous algae, its food source. It is usually green or reddish, with black-tipped rhinophores and a white patch on the head extending to the lower part of the rhinophores. Green individuals can be confused with the similar E. coodgeensis, but can be differentiated by the cream edge to its mantle, instead of black, and its neon spots, in green, blue and orange.
