More slender and nodulose than the closely related Cominella lineolata, this species is also less common. For the most part, it shares a similar pattern of thin spiral lines with alternating dark/light dashes in between, although similarly it can also exhibit solid colour between the spirals. The strong axial folds and whorls with distinct shoulders are also notable features.
