This slender bottwom-dwelling fish is highly prized by anglers and can grow to about 70cm long, although individuals usually encountered are around the 30cm mark for adults. The King-George whiting is silver, with a long snout and large eyes. It can be distinguished from other whiting species by the golden spots on its back.
