A juvenile
This fast-moving shrimp is occasionally found under rocks in the subtidal zone. It is similar to the more common cleaner shrips (Palaemonidae), but is shorter and has a more defined hump on its back. It can be recognised by the bold dark stripes on its transparent body. This species has a hinged rostrum (beak) which it can move up or down.
