This small snail has a long, slightly convex spire. It is brown with white, strongly beaded bands, lightening towards the tip of the spire. Found under rocks or in association with sponges, it is very similar to a host of other microsnails. Unlike many, however, it has a sinstral (left-handed) spiral, and can be differentiated from other similar species (mostly from the Triphoridae and Cerithiidae families) by its colour, pattern and beading.
