Bristle Worms (Polychaetes)

Polychaete worms are a type of segmented (annelid) worm that moves by a combination of peristalsis, undulations, or with the aid of limb-like parapodia. They feed in a variety of ways, with species that are filter feeders, parasites, scavengers and in some cases, predators. They are the most common type of annelid worm found in the marine environment.
