Threefins (Family Tripterygiidae) are blennoid fishes that are distinguished from true blennies by their three dorsal fins. They are mostly small and are found on or under rocks. Well-camouflaged, they are carnivorous, eating small invertebrates such as isopods. Some species are sexually dimorphic, with males and females having different colouration.
