Gobies (Family Gobiidae) are small bottom-dwelling fishes. With over 2000 known species, they are the largest family of fishes. They are distributed in almost all climates, and occur in freshwater and estuaries, as well as the marine environment. They are usually small, rarely exceeding 10cm in length, and are distinguished by their rounded head.
