Bryozoans are a colonial animal consisting of groups of specialised zooids living in either a hard or soft exoskeleton. They come in a variety of forms, but are usually encrusting, branching, or lobate. Bryozoans are filter feeders, with specialised feeding zooids that extract food from the surrounding water with a crown of hollow tentacles.
